ICS nightmare please help

I am trying to connect a 360 through my laptop but am having a fairly peculiar problem with it. Any time i try to enable internet connection sharing on the computer it reconnects to the router and then is not able to connect to the internet.

If i go and disable the internet connection sharing it will then reconnect to the router and immediately begins working flawlessly again. It has nothing to do with the 360 because this is replicated on an Apple router and a linksys router.

If anyone has any insight into this problem i would really appreciate it.

Why are you trying to use ICS when you already have a router? Do you have a wireless network and need to connect the 360 to it so you're trying to accomplish this by using the laptop? Just spend some money and get either the wifi adapter for the 360 or a generic wireless bridge or game adapter. I don't have a lot of experience with these devices myself since I'm an ethernet snobl, but I'm sure someone will be along shortly with a more specific reccomendation.

I am just visiting a relative for a while. At my home i have it hard wired into a router. While i am here i would like to just be able to use my laptop because i know this is possible. Either way this is not a problem with the 360 this is a problem with my laptop not being able to keep an internet connection while ICS is active.

It's probably because the router where you are at uses the 192.168.0.x subnet. Using ICS with that is not possible.
