Gaaaaahhhhhhh........

[s]Ok damn it. I am once again having problems.
Decided to buy a Lynksys Wireless N adapter to update my 4 year old Belkin I am using.
So, what I did was install the lynksys software, then as you're suppose to install the adapter, and turn the PC on, however my PC woulden't start, so I thought it was because I had placed this in the PCI slot my old one sat in.
So I place it in a new spot, PC turns on, now I can't use the damn thing!
It's not recognized whatsoever!!!!!!!!!!!! And I can't install it. WHY WHY WHY.

I admit, I didnt uninstall the old belkin drivers, is this why?
did I permantly damage the new one I had because I placed it in the old slot?
HELP![/s]

Ok, I have it now, but what do I do in the future so I can REUSE a PCI slot?
Also, could I have screwed it up for putting it in the old PCI slot? I am guessing before uninstalling the old drivers?

You need to uninstall the Belkin drivers for a start.

There is a good chance the old Belkin drivers have locked up the IRQ of that slot and a good idea would be to uninstall them first as Amdalex has advised, as far as your new card is concerned I doubt very much if you have done it any harm.
What OS are you using?
Can you do a system restore back to the Belkin days? then start by uninstalling the Belkin drivers, put the new card in place to see if it recognised and then install the drivers for it.

Well, I ended up having to do a full XP reinstall (had to, 5 months and it got bogged down ahah), and installed the Wireless card correctly, and it works wonderfully.
Anyway so with this said, the belkin drivers are pretty much obsolete.
