MSN but no websites

I have a Belkin router that is a couple of years old. I have 1 wired PC and a wireless desktop and laptop. All computers demonstrate an ability to sign in to msn messenger immediately but struggle to receive email through Outlook / Thunderbird and can't access websites for an unspecified. This usually continues for around 5 or 10 minutes at which point websites and emails become accessible. I've tried OpenDNS servers in case it was a problem with my ISPs DNS but to no avail.

Any suggestions?

Have you rebooted the router and modem?

XP is running Sygate Personal Firewall but Vista is just running Windows own firewall. I don't see why it would be the firewall since it's only a matter of time before I start getting websites again, all other connections work fine and there's no confirmation/dialog boxes appearing on either machine.
