home network problem

ok... for about 2 years, my network was running fine. today I setup dsl (i had cable before) and when setting it up, I was told to remove my network cards from network properties... so i did. I didn't think to write down what setting was what though, and now I can't get it configured right.

I'm using a home phoneline network, every computer is connected to another computer in the network. What settings should I change on the server so the other computers can access the net? right now, they can all ready each other through sygate internet connection sharing, and they can all be pinged from the server, and I can ping the server from all the other computers.

Each client is setup like this

IP: 192.168.0.*
Gateway: 192.168.0.1
DNS: 192.168.0.1
Netmask: 255.255.255.0

For the server right now, the IP is set to 192.168.0.1, the netmask is set to 255.255.255.0, no gateway is installed, DNS is disabled as is WINS. All the bindings are set the same.

Also, each computer is running Windows 98, and in sygate, "Use built-in DHCP server" is enabled. Thanks in advanced!

Start by setting all the clients to obtain an IP address automatically, use DHCP for WINS resolution, remove all gateways and disable DNS. Use NetBeui for filesharing.

If you are using Sygate's built in DHCP server, you are totally defeating its purpose by assigning static IP's to the clients.

OK, right now all the clients have a network setup like what you told me to do above. The problem i'm having now is that if I turn the server on first then a client, and connect to the internet I have to restart sygate for the other computers to use the internet. If I restart my computer, sygate will load automatically when the computer starts, but for the other computers to use the internet, I have to restart Sygate anyway. That also goes for a client, if they restart their computer I have to restart sygate on the server.
