I want to get the best and fastest wireless router available. What should I be looking for? I am pretty computer savvy but must admit I don't know what the best wireless router would be
![]() I have Verizon FiOS (Fiber Optic DSL) and spend a premium on having the fastest connection possible. I even had someone remotely connected to my laptop (tech support) comment on how fast my connection was and that he'd never worked with a connection that fast. I'm looking to use my laptop as my primary gaming machine and letting my wife use the desktop for all of her work (she's a photographer) Rather than have to run a LAN line across the room and possibly into another room, I'd rather have wireless. So, literally what is the finest, nicest, fastest, sweetest router I can get. I'd be comfortable spending around $200, possibly $250 for it. I see most are in the $100-$150 range so I'm pretty confident I can pick up a nice one for $200. Bring on the info! ![]() Any advice would be fantastic!!! I appreciate all help greatly! ~Vinny |

Could you post the laptop specs or the model and brand of your laptop? It will help us to reccomend the right router for the wireless card it has.

![]() Let me look, I'm at work but I just booted it up, just have to login. I'm currently dumping Vista for XP 64bit, but I can still get in. ~Vinny |

I would just purchase the standard Wireless G router made by Linksys. It will support up to 54 mbps and it costs about 50 bucks in a retail store

get the L version. Full model is Linksys WRT54GL. It's not usually available in brick and mortar stores.
