Connecting 3 computers without a hub?

Is it possible to connect 3 computers without a hub? My motherboard has an RJ-45 connector and I'm wondering whether installing an ethernet card will relieve me of a hub.

If your going to share the internet you will need a router, If your just connecting the three as a peer to peer LAN you will need a switch.

You can pick up a switch for less than $10 and do it the right way, so just do that.
