HELP! What data am I throwing out there?

I am a gamer and I often use a program called HLSW to monitor various servers. One of the features of this program is that it graphs your ping in real time. Lately when I am playing I see these massive spikes in my ping and the chart goes RED every minute or so. This is not making playing online almost impossible.

Is there a program out there that I could run that could tell me what programs that I have running are pushing any upstream data? I double checked to see if I had any obvious programs open but I don't.

Thank you!

your ping times are driven not just by your activity but also your ISPs activity, the hops in between and at the game server level.

If you are keeping current with your security (A/V and malware sweeps/checks) and everything looks clean, then I would look to another cause to you increase in ping times
