Folder Sharing over home network question

I have been enjoying sharing folders kept on my desktop over my home network, accessing them with my laptop. Pretty easy to do. Just highlight the folder, go to properties, file sharing, set it for file sharing and that is it. I have 4 folders set that way. No problem.

This past week I have been trying to set another folder for file sharing. I can see it on my laptop but I can not gain access to it. I keep getting a message saying I do not have access rights to the share and see my admin.

When setting my other folders for file sharing, I seem to remember that after clicking Apply, I got a message saying it was setting the folders and sub folders and page files would fliy across the screen. This time I do not see that.
I have tried various settings but none have worked so far.

Any ideas?

Hi GLC,

Win XP on both desktop and laptop. Running Zone Alarm but did try shutting it down on both computers with no sucess.

I just tried turning off file sharing on one of my folders and the problem folder. Then I turned file sharing back on on both folders. The original folder still works, the new folder does not.

Check the file permissions, in the security tab of the folder properties.
