Limited network access

Hi all. Firstly, I'm very aware that this is probably the wrong forum, but I've tried elsewhere and got nowhere - and you often have good suggestions, so here goes!

I have a Lynksis WAG54G wireless router. I have three machines which connect to it: my main PC (WinXP), a laptop (WinXP) and an Asus Aspire One Netbook running Linux. I have the router configured so that it lets on machines via MAC Address, rather than authentication.

The Netbook came pre-installed with a version of Linux called Linpus Lite. It's ok but not great for people who want to get stuck into linux, so I reinstalled it with 'Linux4one' which is a version of Ubuntu built specially for this machine. Since I did that, I have strange network behaviour - all I can access is Google! And anything in the google domain, i.e. gmaill is fine. Anything else just hangs. Trying a Ping command confirms this.

Using the wireless network scanner, I can connect to another router in my street, and that's fine - so I can't decide if the problem is with my router or with the linux dist. With the original OS it was all fine. The other machines are all fine. What an earth could be causing this?

Any help at all, really appreciated!

So when you connect to the router other than yours, can you navigate the internet; sites other than Google. If so I would check your router settings, I would also disable MAC Address filtering to see if that helps.

You realize that Linux4one is only a Release Candidate.
