My internet disconnects when i log off
okay guys so heres the deal. im on a windows xp and its a desktop. so anyways its been off the internet for a while but i fixed it by reinstalling my router onto the computer. the problem is, everytime i log off or shut down, when i connect again ive lost internet and need to take time to reinstall the router again! so how can i fix it?

You do not need to install router software in order to connect to the internet.
What make and model is your computer? What make and model is your router/modem? What type of internet service do you have? dialup, dsl or cable?

i have a dell windows xp and i use a netgear thingy (im not very good with internet) so yeah thats that.

Who is your internet service supplier?
Does your phone line plug directly into the Netgear box or does it plug into another box first? |
