Connection Issues

Hi Guys

Im desperate. I have a billion bipac 5100 4 port router modem which i connect to the internet. Had no troubles until recently out of the blue. Now 80% of the time wheni turn the modem on and try to connect i open IE and i get th emessage in the left bottom bar saying connecting to (the sites ip address). At the same time my skype is connected and i can update AVG virus etc and i can ping websites from the cmd window. The IE window just sits there trying to connect for ages and nothng happens. If i log off and log back on again without touching the modem then normally it will connect to a web page no problems. I am at a lost it seems so random andim not sure what to check.

Anyhelp would be much appreciated.

Cheers
Chris

What version of IE and what version of Windows? Have you tried an alternative browser such as Firefox?

If Firefox works and IE does not, uninstall IE7, it will revert to IE6. If that works, then you can reinstall IE7 or IE8.

Normally, you can install IE8 over IE7, but in your case I'd revert to IE6 first and make SURE it works, then go right to IE8 if you WANT IE8.
