Learning Networking

So where is the best site, book, cd for someone starting out with Learning Networking.

I do not have a Premium Membership so I guess the CD is not accessible to me.

I bought this book several years ago and read it thoroughly to gain some basic network understanding. I still use it for reference from time to time.

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_b_...etworking+for+

Number 1 and/or #7 would be my recommendations for someone just starting with networking.

I bought #3 at that link PR gave, and it has a lot of info in it. It's more of a quick reference though, because it says 10 books in 1, so I don't know if it would have the depth of information that the ones he suggested would. A lot of stuff in it though......878 pages.

Says it has:

Networking Basics
Building a Network
Network Administration and Security
TCP/IP and the Internet
Wireless Networking
Telecom, Convergence, and Mobile Devices
Windows Server 2008 Reference
Using Other Windows Servers
Linux Networking Reference
Appendixes

Either way, I've always found the Dummies books are a good place to start.

I learned through reading online along with trial and error...both Windows and Linux networking.
