Windows cannot find any networks!!! Please help!
All of the sudden my laptop wont connect to my wireless router! I keep getting "Windows cannot find any networks". I think the problem has to be with the laptop. Because when I bought the laptop and before I got the router the laptop found about 3 networks in my house. One of them I know was from my neighbor across the street. I could not connect to any of them but the laptop at least found them. After I got my router I hooked everything up and it worked great. It has been working great for about a month. Till today. The laptop is an ASUS Notebook N80Vb/N80Vm Series. It has an Intel Wifi Link 5100 AGN Network adapter. The device manager says, “This device is working properly”. My router is a Netgear WNR200 wireless n router. I can connect with the cable to the router and connect to the Internet but I cannot connect wireless. If you need more info about my problem to help me, please just let me know what else it is that you need to know. Thank you in advance. I know that the people on this forum will be able to help me. You guys have come through for me many times and whenever someone mentions a PC problem of any kind I always tell them about this site.

I'm guessing there's a physical switch on your laptop that turns off the antenna that you've accidentally activated.

The manual says to hit the Fn and the F2 button repeatedly untill Wireless LAN is shown. I tried that several times and it did nothing.

If pressing those buttons does not turn on the Wireless LAN, the adapter has died, contact Asus for warranty service.

I got it working again!! Could it have been a virus? I use the recovery disk that came with the laptop and I can connect to my router now. Of course nothing looks the same on the laptop as before. All the settings are screwed up. I guess the 40 bucks I spent on SYSTEM CUSTIMIZATION and COMPUTER OPTIMIZATION at best buy is down the drain. I’m not going to use the anti virus that came with it anymore, "trend micro". I’m going to get AVG like I have on my desktop pc. I have not had any problems with that. Thanks again.

I'm thinking probably not a virus, but the driver got corrupted.
