Internet conection
I'm running Vista in my pc, and my connection was great, all of the sudden i can't connect to internet. I've tried reseting the cable modem, with different cables, wireless, reboot everithing.
The status shows the the signal is good, but you can see that receive bytes but wont send any. I can't browse. I didn't install anything. I've scaned the HDD, nothing (i did scaned with another pc too) If i do an ipconfig this results came: Autoconfiguration IPv4 Address..: 169.254.167.22 Subnet Mask............................: 255.255.0.0 Default Gateway.......................: Ethernet adapter Local area connection: Media state.........................................: Media disconnected conection-specefic DNS Suffix................: Tunel adapter local area conection*8: media state.........................................: Media disconnected connection-specific DNS suffix.................: Tunel adapter local area connection*16: (idem above) tunel adapter local area connection*10: (same above) I dont know what else to do. Thanks in advance for any idea. |

What is the brand and model of the cable modem? Is it connected directly to the PC? If not, we need to know exactly what's in between them. Provide basic details of the PC, and open Device Manager and report all flagged devices. Is the Ethernet adapter reported as operating correctly? |

The modem is a motorola sbg900.
I had pc 1 (the one that have nop connection) direct to the modem by ethernet cable, and pc 2 wireless. Nothing between the modem and pcs, the sbg900 have wireless capabilities too. Then i switch it, got pc2 with the same cable and is working, and pc1 wireless y does not connect so, is not the cable, and it look like is not the ethernet because wireless does the same thing. It shows the network, receive som bytes but it wont send any. I have not flag on device manager, it says that the device is working good. So is not the modem, cable, no virus, or device is why i'm desoriented. Pc 1 is a core 2 duo, it's a clon. Mother: Asus P5KPL-VM Processor: Intel core 2 duo E7400 Ram: 4gb Video: nvidia Gforce 9800GT Thanks |

Most likely some Vista issue if it won't work with either the builtin Ethernet or a properly associated wireless adapter.

Unless you can find the issue, you may wind up doing exactly that. Double and triple check your network configuration and options in Vista.
