"Drive By" infection
I often get asked how a customers machine has become infected with malware and I always seem to hear those immortal words:
"but I never visit any dodgy web sites" "but I never click on any thing!!" "I NEVER!! go to p*rn sites" Here is a perfect example of a "drive by" infection picked up from a respectable legitimate website. BBC News - Britons caught out by booby-trapped web ads Thousands of home computers infiltrated after hackers infect high-profile websites with booby-trapped ads | Mail Online

Very good article, it is getting tougher and tougher to keep PC's from getting infected. I get 3 or 4 systems a week after work that people need cleaned, malware is running rampant.
A lot of it I find is anti-malware definitions being out of date, but like stated here, the user's really don't need to do anything in some cases to become infected, just visiting a normal site. |

Nice article, but I find that while most people claim they don't surf p*rn, their internet history and temp files tell a different story.
Sorry Kuch, I had to make a small edit, we triggered the spambuster report. RJF.
