New Company Network
I've been tasked with putting together a budget for our company network. Currently we are tied into another companies network as a subdomain and are physically connected via routers over broadband. All of our network resources with the exception of printing is handled via the other companies servers.
The existing network is configured using active directory, hosts our exchange accounts and network files. Because of the speed issues, we are buying our own local server. Currently, we are 10-15 people and I plan on purchasing a Dell box with SBS 2011. I plan to buy a firewall - either a SonicWall or Cisco box. I currently handle our internal help desk support and local networking issues when they arise. I have limited network and server experience but I would end up administering the new server. I need some suggestions on how to handle: -Licensing -Antivirus/anti spam -offsite backups -VPN (up to 6 simultaneous users) -OWA My current internet circuit is a 22MB broadband connection with 5 static IP addresses so I am covered there. Any input would be greatly appreciated - especially if I am currently overlooking anything major. |
