10 port wireless router
Does Cisco/Linksys, Belkin or Netgear make a 10 port wireless router?
Thanks! |

all routers ports designs are by the power of 2. so LINKSYS makes 1 port, 2 port, 4 port, 8 port, 16...24...and so on. you either go with a 16 port one OR get a 4 port one and add an 8 port-switch to make it 10 usable port. HTH.

Awesome good to know.....
Now I have a Cisco-Linksys WRT54G2 Wireless-G Broadband Router! Can I take a Cisco-Linksys EZXS16W EtherFast 10/100 16-Port Workgroup Switch and hook it up to the wireless router? I tried a Netgear JGS516 ProSafe 16-Port Gigabit Ethernet Switch and no luck! Unless of course I was doing something wrong! |

Yes you can, no problem. Connect a cable from port 4 on your router to port 16 on the switch, and set the MDI/MDIX switch on the switch to whichever position works.

glc,
are you referring to the netgear 16 port switch? I am not sure by what you mean in the following quote: Quote:

No, the Linksys. Read the setup sheet.

ok because the 16 netgear switch I have isn't working. I took a cable from port 4 to port 16. Then I unplug the cables that are plugged in ports 1 and 2. I restart everything back up and loose everything, even the wireless signal. So either the wireless router is dieing, or the netgear switch is bad.
my girlfriends wireless signal looses its signal but that might be due to the router going bad. Very frustrating! |

Don't have a clue about the Netgear but what I said should work with the Linksys SWITCH.
