Who's Looking for You?
I had a guy ask me about the Who's Looking for you? Pop-ups that come up on facebook. I personally never accept or care who is looking at me or for me so I don't know the answer to his question and thought maybe one you guys would. This was his question:
"Question: I got hit with a site on FB telling me how to track whos looking at my profile page. I checked it out , then it hit me with all kinds of info like address and such. I didn't fill anything out, however I did allow it to view my Fb book page briefly. It appeared to be a ligitamite page from FB. My friend did the same thing and we both ended up with the same amount of views. Are we compromised? Did I just screw myself again?" He was just hit with malware and paid some guy like $200.00 to straighten out his computer so that is what he means by screwing himself again. I do use the facebook to stay in touch with my Son that is in the Army. Pretty much the only way I get pictures of my three Grandsons is to steal them from my Daughter-in-laws Facebook page. But I do not do the apps or games or any of the other junk so I do not know the answer to his question. Do any of you guys? Thanks, Anjie

Big trouble. Stay away from that stuff. Check your program list in the add/remove applet and see if there is anything referencing that and let us know.
Download and Burn a copy of Microsoft System Sweeper from a known clean computer. It is available in 32bit and 64bit. Download the version that mirrors your OS. Boot the cd on your PC and let it run. Hopefully it will not find anything. http://connect.microsoft.com/systemsweeper Last edited by jdeb; 01-29-2012 at 07:33 PM. |

I usually recommend running malwarebytes. On top of that, it would be a good idea to change your facebook password.
By the way, what browser are you using?

Yep, it's bait.
![]() It's there wanting you to click on it and most likely will install apps that will run in the background if you choose to follow thru. Nobody is really looking for 'you' specifically(maybe, but doubtful)....but someone may be looking for your name. ie. Someone may be looking for Jamie Copper, but: Jamie Cooper - Yahoo! Search Results Try doing a search on your own name, watch what happens. Money says you wont come up that easy.
