Is there a way to limit connection speed to a computer on a network?
I live in a house with someone who is always online doing stuff that slows down my Xbox Live connection, and if you've ever played a shooter online, you know it needs to be on point.
Can I limit that person's consumption ability of the bandwidth through my router, or should I contact my ISP (Cox) about having a better upload/download rate? |

Try this first before you consider paying more money for more bandwidth.
Get a gaming router. Gaming related packets are prioritized to be first. This does exactly what you need without slowing down your internet connection. I have one (the last version of the same thing) and it does what it is supposed to do very well. I wish mine had that nice information screen on the top. ![]() D-Link Xtreme N Gaming Router
