My D-link router wasn't giving me the wireless range I needed, so I purchased a Linksys e1000 with dd-wrt pre-installed on it, to use as a wireless extender. It worked right out of the box, as advertized, for about a year now, untill...
I had to reset the linksys because i couldn't remember the password to connect my wifi phone on it. once i reset it, i assigned a new password and checked all my settings in 192.168.1.1 and saved my configuration. Now I can connect to the router just fine, but have no internet access. If i try to connect to the D-link router all is well! any ideas?

user name and password for your ISP?
Check for wan address in router. that will confirm that user name and password are accepted and that it is a computer problem rather than an ISP problem. you might try ip reset and winsock reset. |

If you reset it, you have to reconfigure it to exactly how it was before. You have an IP conflict or a subnet issue.

glc is right. Just do a hard reset and put in the password that is located on the router.
Change the info once you are in. |

If your router is connected via a Cable system then you may need to clone the MAC Address from the old router to the new one as the ISP is looking for the original MAC Address but seeing a new one. Obviously ISB username and passwords must be input into the new router too!!
