MSE loses important German certification.
What is also interesting are the ratings for the other anti-malware security software. I have never seen this much security software compared on an apples to apples basis. Bitdefender in this test comes out on top. Of course who comes out on top depends on the test parameters.

Interesting but since switching all my customers, they have not had issues. The occasional drive by but that is going to happen no matter what AV... if the customer responds by hitting the keyboard or mouse.

Yeah, I don't know what to think of it. All the experts here like it and that is from personal experience. It just kind of surprised me that it flunked a test.

Just because one product/brand/what-have-you has been a favourite here doesn't make it a perennial perfect solution. Microsoft is in deep trouble as of now, and it wouldn't be surprising for one or a number of their products to start flaking: it's possible that people who worked on such application have been fired or moved to other areas with the subsequent fall in quality.
Now, this doesn't mean that everyone must grab and rush out to buy Bitdefender or whichever got better scores or is still certified, but those who choose to continue to use MSE should be more vigilant and even ready to switch to a better antivirus should MSE proves or is further proven unreliable.

I am not ready to go as far as switching AV's based on that article. However, AV Comparitive.org did not even have MSE in their testing which concerns me a great deal. They also ranked Bitdefender at the top but at $70.00 a pop, makes it hard to swallow. G Data is 28.00, Bull Guard 60.00, Kaspersky 60.00

I'm not switching either, yet. In my experience, the other, high-ranked AVs are quite intrusive and bog the system down. MSE is quite light and with healthy browsing habits I'm yet to have a problem.

That is the key, healthy browsing habits. That is one of the statements I make on a new build or as it applies to which AV to use.
