Ransome Ware: Does it Affect on C: drive?

Does ransomware only affect C drive or will it lock down files on attached drives?

I haven't seen a multi drive machine with the infection yet but I am sure it would affect all connected drives.
What variant of ransomeware is the machine infected with?
What have you done to try and clean the infection so far?

My machine isn't affected at this time. I'm just in a just in case mode.

What OS are you running?
What are you using for antivirus and antimalware scanning at the moment?

I"m running Windows 7, Malware Bytes, and MSE. I have no virus at this time. I was just curious for a just in case. I have a single hard drive, partitioned to C and D. All my created files: Documents, Video, and Photos are on D.

For this very reason I run several external harddrives, that are only connected when I need to back up some files.
