Re-setting Wireless Network Password

So my sister has a wireless network set up at her house, but it's password protected and she has absolutely no idea what the password is, which of course means nobody can access the network. So is their a way to reset the password or do i have to call her ISP? She has a newer Mac computer.

Thanks!

Easiest way is to do a hard reset on the router/access point. This will set everything back to defaults and she will have to reconfigure it the same way she did when she installed it. The ISP has nothing to do with it, it's a local configuration. You can avoid a reset if you can get into the configuration page, that will allow you to either read out or reset the password.

However, if it happens to be an AT&T 2Wire gateway, the password is the 10 digit number on the bar code sticker, it's 64 bit WEP.

Well, my sister remembered the password so I can log onto her wireless network. However, only 1 device can be logged on at a time! Either my iPad or her pc but not both, which seems really weird! Shouldn't they both be able to peacefully coexist?

My wireless router has a reset that a paperclip can reset and the factory password is on a sticker on the bottom of it.

To further help you, we need to know what exact equipment she has and how it's all connected.

Qwest Q1000 wireless router and a Directv DECA broadband adaptor(not even sure what its used for) Tied into it. Its plugged into port #2 of the router. Mac OS 10 operating system. And I'm using my 3rd gen iPad.

Make sure the DHCP server has enough available addresses for all the devices. Is her PC connected with a cable? If not, it should be.
