mekqw2TP error

Hi.. just recently started getting an mekqw2TP error message. It's checkable in DEP. Anyone know what it is or what causes it? It's difficult to close the error message box.

Thank you,

I have no idea what you're asking. Can you provide any additional details? Is this error thrown by a specific program?

Hi... I've gotten this error message about three times now when I shutdown (Windows XP).. Next time it happens, I'll copy all the exact wording and post it. In DEP (Data Execution Prevention) in System (from control panel), it is listed along with Windows Explorer and Internet Explorer.. all can be checked or unchecked for use. This mekqw2TP just showed up on the DEP list recently.

Thanks for your reply,
cuzzzzz

It almost has to be malware. Searching on that name produces no results, it is probably something random. Do NOT allow it to run in DEP.

Thank you both. It showed up on bootup this time.
glc.. I ran a google search on it and could find no mention of it.
I'll run an Emsisoft scan now.

glc.. fyi.. I ran a quick scan with Emsisoft and it did not find mekqw2TP. Planned on runnig full scan overnight. But, ran a search using Windows Search (in XP), and it found nothing. THEN.. ran Ultrasearch.. within 30 seconds it found mekqw2TP hidden in five locations. I deleted them all, and twice now the computer booted and shut down fine.

Very impressed with Ultrasearch.

Thanks again,
cuzzzzz
