WiFi USB Adapter

Would anyone be so kind as to recommend a USB wifi adapter for a desktop. I have an N-router and it is 1 floor down and about 60-65 ft from the pc in need. It has an older Linksys usb G adapter now but it needs a wap in between to get any decent connection. I am thinking an n adapter would eliminate the need for the wap. The Router is a linksys e1200.
My other option is to load the wap with DD-WRT. I used it on an old Linksys router and now use it for a bridge for my bedroom tv to watch netflix and it works great. Price is a concern but i dont want some crappo adapter that is going to go out all the time. I have tried adapters from Belkin and Microsoft in the past and neither is any good compared to linksys.
TIA

I have two of these and they work very well... My router is in the basement of an old house and these reach 2 floors up with ease.

Amazon has them for 15.00

I wouldn't use USB - I'd use a PCI or PCI-E adapter with an external antenna on a cable.
