Probs networking WinXP & WinME computers

I am trying to network a WinXP machine (this one) and a WinMe machine.
Both are on a Linksys Cable/DSL router. I can access the Internet and ping each computer from each computer, but I can't access the WinMe machine from the WinXP machine. The WinMe machine gives me a runtime error whenever I look at My Network Places, but the status bar shows 4 objects. I think that is irrelevent to the situation, but I thought I'd mention it. When I "View Workgroup Computers" from My Network Places on the WinXP machine, it only shows itself.
I have them on the same workgroup, installed NetBios, IPX/SPX on the winXP machine, netBEUI and the IPX/SPX protocal on the WinMe machine.
When I search for the WinMe machine from the WinXP machine, I can't find it.
