How is your licensing agreement set up? (per seat, per server)
What is the exact error message? Do you have Active Directory installed?

For your client, check permissions on server and network settings (file and print sharing) on client.

it used to work before looks like the clients have all there times wrong

when i try to access the other server that controls our vehicle tracking system (if i try to access the shared drive) i get the clients time is incorrect please adjust bla bla

looks like i will have to try and sync the clients clocks !!

W2K sets time zone during install. From your second post, I'm starting to think that 1. Hardware problem (battery on motherboard starting to go south) or 2.time zones or clock is wildly incorrect.

Sorry, still don't understand what you mean by bla bla.
Nevertheless, try troubleshooting from a network standpoint first (ping, tracert, telnet). trying to eliminate your network as the source of the problem.

mmm

possible something is wrong as it happened after the CPU fan died and i replaced MB and CPU (old one was obsolete old slot 1 athlon)

now it loos like the time on the server is a around 10 mins out from the clients causing a problem i tyhink if i reset all the clocks everything should be right again..

thanks for the assistance

not a problem. Depending on how large your network is, it should sync with the domain controller within three hours (though you can force this to cut down on sync time).

no, just make sure that the date and time is correct on the domain controller (clients should sync with domain controller automatically), unless there is a hardware problem. It seems roundabout, but troubleshooting the network (with ping, etc) will eliminate one set of problems quickly. Who knows, maybe you gots a bad cat5 cable somewhere?
