Hi, this may not be the right place to post this, but it is network related. I'm trying to install a Dlink DFE 530TX network card on an ide drive under 98se. The machine is also running NT 4 sp6a, on scsi ultra2 lvd. The idea was that I could duel boot, and use 98 and the inexpensive ide to run seti files while the machine was unattended - but... Hell, I can't for the life of me install the network card, even when I know exactly what it is, and know it works under NT in its current pci slot. I've downloaded drivers till I'm blue in the face, and the install goes fine till it asks where is the "ntkern.vdx, ndis.vdx,vmm32.dx, dlkfet.dos, dlkfet.sy_" files - all or some of these. After the install and reboot, the adapter is installed but exclamationed out, as the install is incomplete. I have no driver disk with this card, and have not needed one till now. How can it be that the card (which is working right now in NT) will not work with 98se? Is there a trick to this, I'm stumped, and I deal with pc's all the time - or am I just plain doing something stupid. Any ideas? Please!
I'd add some kind of smart note here, but I'm clean out of 'em... |

Not only do you need the D-Link driver for Win 98, you need the Win 98 CD. If the file is not found on the driver disk, point it to the 98 CD.
