I am running MS PWS on a Windows 98 laptop just to fine tune some ASP pages. The problem is that when I try to connect to the server by clicking on the http\\:localhost link on the PWS main console IE tells me that I cannot view the page in offline mode. I have to dial up to the internet before it will let me view the files on my server. Can anyone tell me how to get PWS to let me see the files on the server without dialing up.

Sorry but I just typed it backwards in the posting. I still get the same results if I use localhost or the name of the machine.

No... I still get the same results. It tells me that I cannot view this file in offline mode. I even tried to uninstall PWS but nothing changes. I have another computer that does not have a dial up connection installed on it and PWS works fine on it. When I try to view the localhost IE says in the lower right hand corner that it is in the neighborhood network mode.

Try Internet Options - Connections - "never dial a connection".

That is not an option in IE 4.0 that I am running on the laptop. I see it in IE 5 on my desktop though. Is there some other way to fix this on IE 4.
