My wife has an NT workstation laptop that she would very much like to network to our HP Win98. I worked on it very early in the morning, so I may have missed something.
Our network setup at home is an HP win98 to Compaq win95 and a cable router. We network fine and access the internet fine. She brings her laptop home and does school work on it at times. She also does school work on the CQ. We would like to network the laptop to the others, but it requires a DOMAIN to login. I can provide the workgroup, but we don't really use a DOMAIN like NT does. Is there a way around this? Also, we only login for the networking, not to have seperate profiles, hence we use Windows Login script. Wait, don't respond just yet, unless you know the answer for this. I need to go home and verify some more information, but I don't want to lose what I've started. Thanks Randy |

Just leave the domain blank and it will log in to the workgroup.

I thought about that in the middle of the night, but she left and I may get to try again tonight. She has a network card that allows multiple "profiles". Unfortunately, I set the home profile up with a domain. I tried to blank out the domain, but I had to change it in the profile software and didn't think about it until it was too late.
Thanks I'll keep you posted Randy |
