My motherboard has onboard lan. I recently inherited a realtek 10/100 nic. I was wondering if it would be possible to use both at the same time for faster download speeds on lan. From what I have seen each adapter has to have it's own IP.
Is this possibe? What would be the benefit of having both nics on at the same time?

The only use I've seen for two nics is for internect connection sharing without a router.

Download from what? The only time we use multiple nics is in a server that is being hit by many workstations.

I host Rogue Spear at our local lan party. We can have as many as 15people at the same time. I was wondering if there was a way to use the two nics to reduce what the little lag we have.

Try it - it wont hurt if you have enough hub/switch ports. I dunno how this will play with TCP/IP though - we've only done this with IPX.
