Here is the latest news on the new Transmeta Crusoe Chips. They sound like a real threat to Intel and Amd for laptops.

i don't think this is going to be a "threat" to intel, even though i'm an amd supporter, intel has always had the portable computer market and probably will, when consumers see this "crusoe" cpu, i'm willing to bet they are going to want an Intel inside computer...just my 2 cents, that since transmeta is going to be haunted like cyrix was and they are gonna be out of the cpu market in a few years..

I agree, you either have to appeal to gamers (who know what's good) or have a well known name. People won't trust a new chip manufacturer, and laptops are not gaming platforms.
