I have tried many things to get access to my work PC from my home PC, without success. Could someone please tell me if there is a web page with instructions on this - or could someone here lead me through it? Both machines run Win98 and are not networked. Each is connected to the internet via a phone-line modem. I have made sure each is set to dial-up server, allowed sharing of my hard drive, allowed access, yet when I call one PC from the other, it tells me I'm logged in but I can't get it to find the other computer's files. I read that to connect directly like this, Win98 disables networking so I tried Start -> Run //Chambers (the name of my work PC), as the book "Networking for Dummies" told me but to no avail.
Any clues? |

Not sure of your situation. If it is a direct dialup of your work computer you should use PCANYWHERE. There are other ways but security needs to be addressed.
Sepend the money and you will be safe and have complete access as if you were sitting at your desk at work. |
