Has anyone on these forums ever used Avast Anti-virus software? I was wondering if its any good, cause im using Nortons 2002 right now. Thank, Captn

Yes I have been using it for 3 months now. No problems,
uses very little resources, works well with XP Pro and IE6 They have a very detailed manual 180+ pages that pretty much explains everything. Used their support to clarify a few things on two occasions. Got excellent and correct info both times within hour of e-mail request. IMHO a better choice than AVG. |

I use AVG and so far it's done a good job for me, but keep us posted. Always looking for better programs. Definitely sounds like it's a good one.

Just upgraded to the new version Avast 4,
still working fine, better than Avast32 in some ways. Have had no infections get by. One false positive on new release that was fixed within 48 hours of my notifing them. Now have a total of 5 machines in my control using it. Total score Avast= 5 virus infections= 0 |
