i have a cable modem and it used to go about 400kb's a sec for dl's if was incredibly fast. Now i connected the connection with cat6 and cat5e to all the compters. When i go to play warcraft 3 i get dissconected all the time. What is the problem. Could it be that my isp uses dynamic ip adressing and i am using static? Plz help

First of all, if you have LAN'd out your connection to other computers, naturally your speeds will decrease as that bandwidth is taken by the other machines. Most isp's do use dhcp addressing when connecting.

Hi CompSux;
What's in a name?? How did you network them, with a router??? Especially if you are using a router, that one of the main functions of that router is to utilize that 1 IP address you are allocated from your ISP and enable all your PC to share the connection with no IP conflicts. Really though to be of anymore help to you, tell us what networking setup you have. How many PC's and how are they networked, and where does the cable modem connect to on your LAN side?? KK

How many machines?
How are you networking them (Ie equipment involved)? How are they connected (IE GB Ether, 100BaseT, etc...)? Did you change any settings OS side? |
