connect two computers
Hi.folks--Is a patch cable and a crossover cable the same thing??

Patch cables go straight through for hub to PC connections. Crossover cables have the send and receive lines crossed for direct PC to PC connections.

Thanks Hal...just wondering because my son sent me a couple of nics and what he thought was a crossovercable,which turned out to be a patch cable,I'll have to exchange it for the right one, because I'm doing the direct pc-pc no hub....
