Question What is a VLAN ?

Just a quicky, What exactly is a VLAN ?

VLAN — Virtual LAN; a logical grouping of network nodes that act as if they are connected to a single, shared-media network

VLAN is a technology using a router and a switch. Basically the switch is used to split some of the ports into one LAN and some of them up into another LAN. First developed by CISCO.
