i've got a small problem. i have an Xp machine and i'm trying to wite to an Win2000 machine on my network. i have gone in as admin on both machines yet the XP one can't wite to the 2000 and the 2000 doen not see the XP on the network. it XP can see the Win2000 machine though.
the protocols are the same between machines but what could be doing this? |

Does the network work otherwise except for this, as in can you ping each other? Try pinging by both user name and ip address.
What is the network setup here? Do you have file-sharing enabled on the xp box? |

yes it works. we have a router setup. pinging works and i can see the 2000 harddrive & contents i just cant write to it.
Yes file sharing is enabled. |
