Since computer 1 is the lead computer and it has XP on it, Go in to the networking portion and set up the networking wizard. At the end of the setup you can make a floppy to run on the second computer to set up the ICS if the 2nd computer is not running XP. If the second computer is running XP just run the Networking wizard on it and it will set it up.
However a better way is with a switch or a router, not only will you have better performance, but you will enhance security and you don't have to have computer 1 running in order to surf from computer 2. |

got it working.....no thanks to bill gates
I downloaded a proxy server (free of charge) analog x. I had my client computer on the net. In two minutes.
I couldn't get the ICS packaged by microsoft to work. I could see each other exchange date, print but could share internet connection. In my research...........I think it is my ISP "AOL" I believe that is the conflict. (VPN etc.) I posted this incase someelse has the same problem. merry, merry and a happy happy to every one in cyberspace. |
