Networking my two PC's PART II

Ok,

I was able to succesfully file share between my two PC's a while back with the help of GLC. Everything is still the same except PC2 now has a modem. I want to be able to file share without using TCP/IP over the network so when I am online I wont leave both PC's open to the internet through the nics (I know its dial up but don't laugh). Also, I am online using the internet on one of these PC's at a time depending on which one I want to use, but not on both at the same time nor am I trying to share a connection. The thing is that PC2 is running Win98se and it looks like I cant have seperate protocols for each connection. Here is what I am runnng now.

PC1-win2k

56k modem:

TCP/IP
Client for Microsoft Networks

NIC:

Client for Microsoft Networks
NETBUI
File and Print Sharing for Microsoft Networks

PC2-win98se

56k modem:

TCP/IP
Client for Microsoft Networks

NIC:

HERE IS WHERE I NEED HELP. Can I have seperate protocols bound to separate adapters. If so then I only need the same as PC1 above to file share over NETBUI.

Here is the original post and if you have the time to read it I basically just added a modem in the spare PC.

Thanks

In 98, go ahead and add TCP/IP and NetBEUI, you will have 2 instances of each, then just remove the TCP/IP -> NIC and remove the NetBEUI -> Dialup adapter instances - then on the TCP/IP -> Dialup adapter properties, uncheck file and print sharing from the Bindings tab.

Glc,

Thanks for the help. I am not home so I will try this tonight. I see from what you have written that I can have different protocols for seperate cards, except they are all on the same dialog box. I will post back what happens. Thanks
