Two pc's on my Workgroup: How do I access the desktop on my other pc??

I have cable modem with a router and two pc's, both running XP Pro. I've just hooked up my old pc to my router and ran the Network Wizard settings and I'm now able to access files from my old pc onto my new one. I made sure the Remote Desktop box for both was checked in System Properties.
But how do I access the Desktop on my old pc through my new one? If I want to install software into my old pc I must be at the desktop to do this, but is this possible?? Just what does Remote Desktop allow me to do?
Can I get to the desktop on my old pc through my new one and how do I do it?

Thanks in advance

I havn't used it, but I understand it is just like PC anywhere and there is a wizard to set it up and the windows help to explain it all to you. I do know it has to be XP pro to use it, so you are good there.
