Networking
Hi all.
What sort of cable do I need to connect my Desktop computer to my laptop? Both have Ethernet adapters, the laptop has Win95 and the othe Win 98. Is there any simple guides Knocking about that shows what the settings should be? Thanks

just get a crossover cable from PC World or whatever,
you can get setup instructions off sites like www.practicallynetworked.com

Hi all! (again)
O.k. I`ve sorted out the cable and got the settings right (I think!) and can swap files and use the internet from both computers at the same time. However, it is now hit and miss whether my machine will shut down. The computer wil freeze on the Windows is shutting down screen. The other computer is fine. Both are using Windows 98SE. I`ve also added an Optical mouse at the same time. Are ther any problems with these devices? Thank you for any help recieved. Chris |
