Home made print server + wireless networking

I am trying to wirelessly network my computer and printer and need to know if this is possible and how I should get started:

equipment:
hp officejet d135 (fax, copy, scan & print)
dell laptop (windows XP)
pentium 3 350
linksys wirless router and wireless pc card

I want to use the laptop to wirelessly connect to my highspeed (dsl) connection my printer (with the ability to still use all of the printers functions).

I thought I might be able to use the pentium 3 as a pintserver (this would be its only function) by using windows 98 SE. HP has said that they have heard of it being done but will not support it. They want me to buy a jetdesk 200m printserver from them.

I have never networked anything before but am fairly handy with computers. Does anyone know if this is possible and if so where can I get some information on getting started?

you can check out the networking tutorial ~ http://www.pcmech.com/networking.htm
AFAIK, all you would have to do is get the pentium to show up on the network, then share the printer. Only downside is that the pentium will always have to be on in order to print. I had no idea how to network anything, and i did the same thing (only wired) and it was a cinch.
