Cable drop-offs

This happens once every 3 months or so. The cable drops out and my modem doesn't get a signal. Is the ISP updating software or something? Sometimes the modem just resets the connection and I have to restart the computer. That usually happens after the 3 month thing. Is that normal for cable? I've had it for two years now, and I never bothered to ask anyone.

If it has been doing it from the start then there may be a frequency trap somewhere in your area that needs to be updated.
