Internet Connection Sharing
Hey everybody.
I am trying to share satellite internet (posted a thread about this earlier) between XP and 98SE. This should have been a simple task, but my luck just doesn't work that way. I ran the Network Connection wizard on the XP machine, made the floppy, ran it on the 98SE and shared the printer and a folder. Everything worked for about a minute then nothing. I can't ping either machine, but all is good when pinging each computers NIC. Awhile back this computer's user deleted a bunch of files and screwed the machine up, but he did a restore over the top(this is a new DELL), and everything seems to be running ok, except that when running the network wizard, it always has an error, but the second time it works. Do you guys and gals think maybe the restore didn't do a good enough job and he needs to do a clean install? I even tried to set it up manually and it was a no go. Any advice appreciated.
