An Ethernet jack/plug, used with 8 conductor Category 5 cable, it looks like a slightly oversized modular phone jack/plug, which is RJ11.

Ok if it has an onboard Lan and rj45 are they the same or is the rj45 on board not external

same thing, you have a onboard lan, the rj45 is the jack on the back of the motherboard that you plug the cat5 cable into, they are called a rj45 connection, plug on the cat5 cable and the jack for the lan on your motherboard.
