I have 2 pc's networked on a cable modem.My work pc is being accessed from the 2nd pc.How do I prevent access to my work pc from the 2nd pc??The work pc is Win 98,2nd pc is XP.

Get rid of file and print sharing on it.

On the 98 machine, right click on Network Neighborhood, go to properties, click file and print sharing button and uncheck them.
