Accessing network details

Is there a way of finding out all the ip addresses on a local network i.e. in a range of ip addresses 192.168.13.1 to 192.168.13.256. Also is there a way of getting the host name for each computer (they are not all pcs - macs too).

This looks like something that might do what you want. http://www.insecure.org/nmap/nmap_download.html I didn't get a chance to check it out. but from the screenshot it looks good.
