some programs it's as easy as sharing a cd drive and installing from that. others it'll kick out a bunch of errors and not function.
what i do is share my cd drive and go to the computer i want to install onto and map my cddrive as a drive. this usually works without a problem. i have to do this because a lot of the drives around my work have become gunked up and have been know to scratch, ding, or even eat cd's.

oh one thing i forgot to ask while we are on the subject? do i need special software to run programs on a computer over a network? ex: computer "a" wants to run a program on computer "b" (not from "b"). make any sense? in other words use computer "b" like a ghost?
i know it doesn't make sense, so if you have any questions......

so, you're sort of thinking about one computer hosting a shared program? if the folder containing the program were shared, this should work. but be cautioned, this maybe violating some copyright and licensing laws.

Most "networkable" software requires at least a partial installation on every computer that will be running it, even though the bulk of the program will reside on the "server".
