redialing software?
i'm on 56k and i would like to know if there is any programs out there so my modem will keep trying to connect till it connects at a speed that i want?....like i can set it to connect at 45000bps and it will keep trying till it gets that?......thanks

1. What is the exact modem model? You can put extra settings into the initialization string to only connect at or between certain speeds.
2. Before you actually do this, it's a fact that connecting TOO fast for your line conditions can actually make your throughput SLOWER because of excessive error correction. |

i have 2 Creative Modem Blaster Flash56 PCI DI5630-5....
ESS ES56STH-PI Data Fax Voice Modem....i switch between the 2. oneday one connects better than the other.....thanks for your reply Last edited by ghitch75; 04-30-2003 at 04:01 PM. |

Both of which are winmodems - you will get better connections with a hardware modem such as a USR 2977 or an external serial with a USR or Conexant chipset.
